Tybee Island - Joseph G. Kameron, 83, died Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at his residence under the care of Hospice Savannah. He was born in Savannah on August 9, 1926 to the late Frederick H. and Kathleen M. Kameron.
Joseph served in the United States Army and was retired from the Railroad and also from Gulfstream. He was a communicant of St. Michael's Catholic Church on Tybee Island.
He is survived by his daughter, Melissa K. Lewis, his brother, John Kameron, three nephews, Mark Kameron, Johnny Kameron, and Jimmy Kameron, four nieces, Kathleen Stapleton, Patricia Levine, Mary Grady, and Ann Dillon. He is also survived by several great-nieces and nephews and other relatives and a special friend, Patty Hanson, and her family.
Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, May 14, 2010 with a Vigil Service at 6:00 p.m. at the Islands Chapel of Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 15, 2010 at St. Michael's Catholic Church with The Reverend Thomas Peyton officiating.
Burial will be in Bonaventure Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the staff of Right at Home Care and the staff of Hospice Savannah for the special care given to Mr. Kameron at his residence.
